SULTANA DANCE ENSEMBLE
Ken Ives is the son of a drummer playing since the age of five. He began by learning
the congas and bongos then moving to the drum set playing for
various rock bands. Once discovering Middle Eastern drumming
and belly dance this became his new passion. He has studied with
international drummer and musician Joe Zeytoonian and taken workshops
from many of his favorite drummers such as Raquy Danziger and
Karim Nagi. Ken has played for the top belly dancers in Florida
for over ten years with styles ranging from Turkish, Egyptian,
Tribal, Flamenco and Indian Fusion. We now welcome him as drummer
for the award winning Dawn Gunduz and Imperial Jade Belly Dance
Theatre!
