Goddess Bellydance :

Authentic Bellydance steps with a pop sensibility. Emphasis on Isolation, Layering, and Fun! All classes begin with a ballet and pilates based warm up for strength, balance and flexibility.

CARDIO: Are you ready to sweat? Get fit while learning to bellydance in this low impact, fun and easy to follow class.

INTRO: 4 week sessions are for new students, introduction to the Serena Technique: 9 basic body positions, undulations, hip isolations, travel steps, graceful arms and hands.

BEGINNER : same as intro but 8 weeks sessions, adding more hipwork and travel steps
BEGINNER 2: same as beginner, but increasing the complexity of hipwork and travel steps

INTERMEDIATE: Technique, Shimmy Drills, Intro to veils, and original choreography

ADVANCED: Technique, Shimmy Drills, Veils, Zills/finger cymbals (Available for purchase at the studio)

INT DANCE COMPANY: Technque, Shimmy Drills, veils, and original choreography for Spring Dance Concert
ADV/PRO DANCE COMPANY: Technique, Shimmy Drills, Improv, Veils, more complex zill rhythms, staging, props, and original choreography for community and Spring Dance Concert performances

ADV/ PROFESSIONAL COACHING: Putting shows together, facial expression, drama in the dance, and Improvisation

IBD Teacher Certification requirements:

200 hours of IBD classroom instruction, 50 hours in Intro/Beg, 50 hours in Int, 100 hours in Adv/ IJBD Workshops/Props

10 Group and 10 solo performances

Completion of teacher training workshop

20 hours teaching internship in each level desiring certification

1 Beginner Choreography ~ demo and then teach Asena Rising dance company

CPR certification

80% or better on Written exam to be administered after completion of classroom hours. It will be on 9 Basic body positions in the Serena technique, basic anatomy as it applies to bellydance, history, and class structure

20 Positive Student Evaluations for each level desiring certification ~ Beg, Beg 2, Int, Adv

Certified Pilates Mat Instructor : Shape your body using deep muscle toning techniques and exercises.
Combining the best of Classical Standing and Mat Pilates, Ballet Floor-Barre, and intense stretching with the Magic Circle, light weights, and Thera bands to achieve the balance, strength and symmetry of a dancer's body.
