
is an international artist, an award winning choreographer, and
certified bellydance instructor in the Serena Technique.
Currently based in West Palm Beach, FL she delights audiences
every Friday and Saturday night at Leila Restaurant and
Off the Hookah WPB. She performs not only locally in Florida,
but has also performed in Istanbul, Turkey,
New York City, Los Angelos,
Beverly Hills, Boston,
Atlanta, the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic
City and Trump's Mar-a-lago
in Palm Beach.
She has danced for audiences including The
Orient House in Istanbul, Turkey, The Florida Turkish American
Association, the Int'l Society of Gastronomes,
Tommy Hilfiger, Janet
Jackson, David Schwimmer,
Ricki Lake, Loretta
Swit, and Mahmoud Reda and has performed onstage with the
B-52s.
Dawn is classically trained in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Ballroom.
She taught Ballet, Jazz and East Coast Swing to children and adults
from 1997-2001. She has been studying and performing bellydance
since 1999 and began teaching in 2003.
Dawn's teaching style is very professional, fun and highly artistic.
Dancers of all levels and abilities from the absolute beginner to
the professional will benefit from her classes and workshops.
She produces and choreographs a professional theatrical bellydance concert every spring. Her teaching style has also been featured in Natural
Awakenings, Boca Magazine, Palm Beach Post Newspaper,
Broward New Times, Boca News, Simply the Best Magazine, the Cover of Skyline Magazine.
Television credits include segments on CBS12 Weekend
Daybreak, Palm Beach Rox and on St. Petersburg's
Channel 10.
Also a certified Pilates Mat instructor, she has produced and starred in a bellydance instructional dvd titled, "Bellydance: The Fun and Feminine Total Toning Workout"
She holds a Bachelor's
Degree in Sociology with a double minor in Psychology and Dance.
In college she had the opportunity to take a bellydance class,
but her immersion into Middle Eastern Dance and music wouldn't
begin until 1999 when she moved to New York City to continue
her
studies in musical theatre and dance.
There, she spent two intensive years studying Turkish and Arabic
Oryantal dance with the legendary Serena Wilson.
While in New York City she performed professionally as a member
of the Jewels with the Amira
Mor International Entertainment Company. She has studied with famed dancer and teacher, Sema Yildiz in Istanbul and after a worldwide audition, she was 1 of 20 dancers selected to participate in Jillina's 1st Annual Weeklong Intensive in Los Angelos.
She is available for solo performances in concert, supper clubs
and private events.
Her performances are classy, fun, and perfect for the whole family.
She is known for her tight and powerful technique, dramatic sword
balancing, graceful flexibility, and exciting drum solos.
Sword, Isis Wings, Candelabra, Palm Torches,
Veil/Double Veil, Zills, Egyptian Cane, and Bollywood performances
are also available upon request.
